Walters Controls is growing, and is looking for high caliber engineers. Walters Controls is not a typical systems integrator that throws bodies at projects to bill man-hours, so the merely average need not apply. If you are less seasoned, demonstrate that your background is solid, that you have the apptitude to learn quickly, and that your work is always above average. Some of the things we are looking for include:

• A solid educational background. Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Chemical Engineering, etc. are degrees we look for. Advanced degrees are a plus.
• True team players.
• Fast learners who can build on their existing knowledge. Most of the projects we do involve something that was never done before, so we need people who can think and solve problems.
• Good communication skills. This includes technical writing, working with clients, etc.
• Knowledge of the industries we serve.
• Controls skills: PLC and PAC programming, PID control, advanced closed loop control techniques.
• User interface skills: Experience with SCADA/HMI software, ability to design intuitive interfaces.
• Computer skills: Relational database design and implementation, knowledge of how information is used throughout the business, programming skill in languages such as C/C++, Java, .NET languages, and scripting languages.
• Documentation skills: AutoCAD, Word, Excel.

The solutions we deliver to the client fit in with the big picture, so it is important to also have an understanding of several other skills as well.
